We got a call on August 21, 2025 from a friend and client, Kim Kupferer who saw a group of very feral, very thin pregnant mares and their foals at a kill pen. She asked if REIN could help. The cost to purchase, transport, vaccinate, deworm, antibiotics and health certificate required to ship was way beyond our means.  We said we could take one or two pairs if she could raise the funds needed to get them here plus cover the high monthly costs until they could all get adopted many years later. We were amazed at the incredible financial support to get the two mares and their foals here. These donations will fund this K-group through November 2025 - Ketanji and her filly Kalusa, and Kassi and her colt Kelton. A huge thank you to Kim and all those who have donated to the K Group so far.

They are completely feral, and it’s critical to get the mares gentled and halter trained by the time they foal in the new year. REIN volunteers are spending countless hours with them, and the foals have just been weaned. Their costs are about $500 per pair per month, not including upcoming vet fees to help with the birthing. Please support the K- group as they are gentled, have babies, become trained and eventually adopted out. We are looking at up to four years for this entire process. Your generosity will help them eventually thrive in a people world.
